Here are some links to sites/people that I find useful or inspiring. I tend to post other random links on Twitter as and when I find them.
For writers/aspiring writers:
The Romantic Novelists’ Association. I enrolled in their New Writers Scheme and it’s a great way to learn and develop. I’m now a full member and really look forward to their events. I’ve also made a lot of friends through the organisation.
The Society of Authors. Basically the union for writers; I definitely think it’s worth the membership. They will check contracts for you and let you know what they think of the terms and conditions.
Kate Walker. I started going to her courses when I first started writing romance. She’s an amazing teacher and also a brilliant writer. If you want to learn how to write romance then I can definitely recommend you go to one of her courses; you’ll find details of these on her website. She’s also published a book called the 12-point Guide to Writing Romance, which I can highly recommend.
Joanne Harris’s Twitter feed; especially her Ten Tweets series.
General links:
There are a lot of people on Twitter I find very inspiring, including Matt Haig, @JuneSarpong, and many others.
There are also many useful mental health organisations based in the UK, such as the Samaritans, Heads Together and Mind.
I can also recommend Disability Snowsport UK, a charity that assists people in accessing snowsport, regardless of disability, injury, or experience.
